Recognising this, MWAZACO focused intensively on building structured partnerships across government authorities, academia and development actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strengthening National Institutional Cooperation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the year, the project engaged in structured dialogue with institutions, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development (MMD)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mines Safety Department (MSD)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copperbelt University (CBU).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(FRDA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The official launch meeting and subsequent field discussions created a shared platform for aligning expectations and responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Key Milestone: Signing of the Non-Disclosure Agreement<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A crucial breakthrough occurred on 26 December 2025 with the signing of a multi-party Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). This agreement enables the project to access previously restricted technical and operational data from mining companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The data includes information related to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mine water management practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Treatment technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmental monitoring records<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inspection and safety documentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This step significantly expands the project\u2019s analytical capacity and allows for more accurate modelling and technical planning in upcoming phases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Linking National Efforts with International Expertise<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>At the international level, cooperation with Czech academic and technical institutions strengthens knowledge exchange and supports the use of advanced analytical methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The growing network, closely connected with the newly established Center of Excellence at CBU, creates a structured framework for long-term collaboration beyond the life of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By formalising cooperation and opening data channels, MWAZACO moves from isolated assessments toward coordinated, system-level environmental management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The MWAZACO project is supported by the Czech Development Agency within the Czech Development Cooperation programme.
